Movie: The Other Guys

Fantastic effort and the message is for winners in life that looser is not always a looser. Fast comedy and bit of action.
Rating (4)****

NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops in New York City. They don't get tattoos - other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg). You've seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They're not heroes - they're "the Other Guys." But every cop has his or her day and soon Gamble and Hoitz stumble into a seemingly innocuous case no other detective wants to touch that could turn into New York City's biggest crime. It's the opportunity of their lives, but do these guys have the right stuff?

Jeeson Augustine's verdict - Will Ferrell's witty comedy rocks and Mark does the rest. Love to see next in this series. Will's pimping work - man my stomach still hurts.

Movie: The Expendables

Rated R - must be a joke; how much stallone paid to make it R certified. With so many stars you expect bigtime action movie but this one is just "talk, talk and talk". Mr Rocky & Mr Transporter rides the movie on their back but probably Rocky tried too hard. Steve Austin, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke talents wasted. Gunner Jensen by Dolph Lundgren was the only character worth to even mention. The low point of the movie is to make a comedy scene out of Mr.Terminator, Mr DieHard and Mr Rocky. If there is another series of this; just try to make 30 mins clip of Mr Rocky's close up stare with no facial expression - I'm sure viewers will laugh for 4 hours.
Rating (1)*

Barney Ross leads the "Expendables", a band of highly skilled mercenaries including knife enthusiast Lee Christmas, martial arts expert Yin Yang, heavy weapons specialist Hale Caesar, demolitionist Toll Road and loose-cannon sniper Gunner Jensen. When the group is commissioned by the mysterious Mr. Church to assassinate the merciless dictator of a small South American island, Barney and Lee head to the remote locale to scout out their opposition. Once there, they meet with local rebel Sandra and discover the true nature of the conflict engulfing the city. When they escape the island and Sandra stays behind, Ross must choose to either walk away and save his own life - or attempt a suicidal rescue mission that might just save his soul.

Jeeson augustine's verdict - not even worth wasting time to read the synopsis. Some stars are too old and unfit (like Jet Li) for the roles.

Movie: Inception

Only director Nolan can do such a movie. I think after dark knight this will be the next stage. Titanic hero has matured to the inception - well done with selection of scripts.

Corporate espionage. Cobb can invade people's dreams, so corporations hire him to steal business secrets from rivals' subconscious. Saito, an energy magnate, wants Cobb to do the reverse: not take information, but plant an idea in a rival's mind. In return, he'll fix problems with the US government so Cobb can return to his children. Cobb takes the near-impossible job, planning three layers of dreams within dreams for the mark. It requires a larger team taking a powerful sedative: if something goes awry, the dreamers may not awake. Cobb doesn't tell his team that his past nurtures feelings powerful enough to bring on this comatose state for all of them. And the children - are they real?

Jeeson Augustine's verdict - Best director and best actors in town; perfect twists in script and visuals are good.. Perfect!!!

Movie: The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Mr Cage takes wrong movie to show his talents; he needs action movies not US version of harry potter ;D
Rating (2)**

Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It'll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Jeeson Augustine's verdict - average but will expect something bigger and smarter in sets. No effective comedy in script..wasted money.

Movie: Salt

An"Evelyn" jolie is too thin for this action movie. This script was perfect for new face or believable ones like resident evil actress.
Rating (2) **

As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt's efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who is Salt?"

Jeeson Augustine's verdict - Every hollywood legend needs a movie that leaves mark in his/her career. Rocky, Terminator, Aliens or even titanic made legends in hollywood. Script was bit weak and casting was horrible. Can you imagine Angelina as Rocky or Terminator; though it will be sexy to imagine but there was no sexiness about Evelyn. Boring..

Movie : The Last Airbender

If you liked matrix series or cartoon version of avatar you need a ticket of this chapter now. Rating: (5)*****

The world is divided into four kingdoms, each represented by the element they harness, and peace has lasted throughout the realms of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire under the supervision of the Avatar, a link to the spirit world and the only being capable of mastering the use of all four elements. When young Avatar Aang disappears, the Fire Nation launches an attack to eradicate all members of the Air Nomads to prevent interference in their future plans for world domination. 100 years pass and current Fire Lord Ozai continues to conquer and imprison anyone with elemental "bending" abilities in the Earth and Water Kingdoms, while siblings Katara and Sokka from a Southern Water Tribe find a mysterious boy trapped beneath the ice outside their village. Upon rescuing him, he reveals himself to be Aang, Avatar and last of the Air Nomads. Swearing to protect the Avatar, Katara and Sokka journey with him to the Northern Water Kingdom in his quest to master "Waterbending" and eventually fulfill his destiny of once again restoring peace to the world. But as they inch nearer to their goal, the group must evade Prince Zuko, the exiled son of Lord Ozai, Commander Zhao, the Fire Nation's military leader, and the tyrannical onslaught of the evil Fire Lord himself.

Jeeson Augustine's verdict - excellent effort and Night Shyamalan's comeback movie. Holes in acting; can improve on this.

Movie: Grown Ups

Adam Sandler movie - what do you expect. Rating: (2) **
After their high school basketball coach passes away, five good friends and former teammates reunite for a Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Jeeson Augustine's verdict - I think a brilliant presentation job for the limited plots and script. Can see this for small childish scenes laugh. I expect a parody movie for this ;D
